Prescriptions

Prescription requests must be received in writing and cannot be taken over the phone.  This is to help eliminate the risk of possible error of the wrong medication being issued.  Patients will be given a list of their repeat medications when they collect a prescription.  This should be used to re-order your next supply, but if this cannot be located, then please write your name, date of birth and details of the medication and strength required on a piece of paper

There are several ways you can request a prescription which includes

  • using the box on the right hand side just inside the front door or posting through the letter box when we are closed
  • email the request to us at [email protected]
    – Please ensure you give your name, date of birth and address in the body of the email along with drug name and dosage required.
  • some chemists in the local area offer the option for you to request it from them and they then send the information to us.
Please note that this can extend the time in which your medication will be ready to collect.

Patients are reminded that it is their responsibility to order their medication in plenty of time. Prescriptions take a minimum of 2 working days to process. Please do not request your prescription earlier than 10 days before they are due as they will not be processed, unless there is a clear reason detailed by you as to why you are making the request early.”

You can order your repeat prescriptions via NHS App or Patient Access on a computer, iPad or a phone app. The surgery will give you a log in and password to access this.
