SERVICES

New Patient Health Screening

We like to meet and screen all new patients. If possible, we try to do this at the time of registration. Otherwise please make an appointment as soon as convenient. All new patients should have a new patient check within three months of registration.

Health Promotion

It is our policy to pursue preventative medicine for all patients. Our practice nurses offer “well person” checks and will advise on disease prevention.
Yearly healthchecks will be offered for patients over the age of 75 years.

Antenatal Clinic/Maternity Care

We offer maternity care in conjunction with the district midwife and the local hospitals. Expectant mothers are seen at a special session on Friday 2.00 - 4.00pm for antenatal checks.

Asthma monitoring

This is held by appointment with the practice nurse. Asthma clinics are held weekly.

Child Health and Development Clinic

The health visitor holds a “Well Baby Clinic” on Thursday afternoon 2.00 - 4.00pm when babies and young children are seen for weighing and any advice needed. No appointment is necessary. The doctors carry out developmental checks by appointment for infants during this time.

Child Immunisation

Routine childhood immunisation is carried by appointment with the practice nurse. Please do not bring ill or infectious children to this clinic.

Diabetic Clinic

This specific clinic is held weekly on a Tuesday 1.30 - 3.30pm and is run by the practice nurse and doctor for the management of diabetes.

Hormone Replacement Clinic - Implants

Hormone implants are undertaken for women requiring this form of treatment. These are by appointment following consultation with the doctor.

Minor Surgery

We are able to offer a number of minor surgical procedures. These will be performed after initial consultation with the doctor and include cryosurgery (freezing with liquid nitrogen), repair of torn ear lobes, removal of moles, warts, excision of cysts, etc.

Travel Clinic

Travel vaccinations and advice are given by the practice nurse. Please make an appointment with the nurse as early as possible so that the immunisation programme can be planned.

Well Woman Clinic

We offer women checks on blood pressure, breast examination, cervical smears and coil checks. Advice is also given on family planning and menopausal problems. Appointments should be made with the practice nurse.
